Member Change

 

We are pleased to announce a new Leona's Sister member. 

Dave Hanson replaces Mike Buisman on guitar.

Mike chose to leave the band for personal reasons and we wish him all the best.  

We look forward to working with Dave as he seems to be the right fit for the band.

Studio

We'll be going into Phase One studio next weekend with our new producer, David Barrett.

Phase One is one of the country's top studios. We'll be starting out slow, one song at a time and we'll see how that goes.

The Rising Fall Tour

We will be opening for Adrian Pain & The Dead Sexy at The Painted Lady on Ossington Avenue in Toronto on October 25th. Also appearing on the bill is the Toronto band InSeverance. Doors open at 8:00PM and there is a $10.00 cover.

Radio

It's been 6 months since our radio debut on the New Driven Indie Music Series. 

It started out with us being in rotation on their weekly show that was aired on 89.1WBCX in the Gainesville/Atlanta GA area. 

Then New Driven secured syndication on a few internet radio stations and due to the quantity of bands they had, they created 2 different shows.

New Driven Crusin features POP and lighter rock bands while New Driven Torqued has harder rock and southern rock. We are in rotation on the New Driven Torqued show and we are still on their original show on 89.1WBCX now called The Indie Garage.

Radio, Studio and More

We've been really blessed to have the support of a couple Indie Music radio programs and last night, Mojo Radio played "War Machine". All 5 songs from our EP, 552012,  have made it to the air. Got Our Mojo Working

Hi Everyone,

The past few months have been busy with new songs in the works and we celebrated a few birthdays too.

Both JT and Blud celebrated birthdays and Leona's Sister celebrated 2 years as a band.


We played with Caught Off Guard, http://www.caughtoffguardmusic.com/, a Ska/Punk band from Calgary.
They were on a national tour and we opened for them at Allstars in Brampton. All was great except for the fact that Baz forgot to pack the guitars in the truck.

We have been getting weekly airplay at New Driven Radio. The show is on 89.1 WBCX Gainesville, GA, and they stream it too. You can listen to the show on Tuesday nights, 8pm to midnight, www.Brenau.edu/WBCX

We have also been advised that Mojo Radio has also picked us up and we will be debuting on "My Jaded Remedy" Sunday, 7-10 PM EST with DJ "Crystal Myth". Here's the link for them, www.http://mojoradio.us .

Turn Up The Radio

Hi Fans,

It's been a pretty exciting month so far.
We had our CD Release party on Friday the 13th. The superstition around Friday the 13's made the date a bit daunting but we turned it around and made it a lucky day.
The whole day was awesome and our hosts, The David Barrett Trio, did an awesome job.
We had lots of friends there and everyone seemed to have a good time.

Then, yesterday, we received an email from New Driven Radio saying our song would be aired yesterday.
We debuted shortly after 11:00pm EDT on 89.1 WBCX Gainesville, GA, The Voice Of Brenau.

This week, now that the CD release is over, time to get a few more songs finished.
While the gear was out of the space, we did a few renos to the rehearsal studio.
It's just about back in order so tomorrow we can get the guitars set back up.

Spring Has Sprung

Hi Fans,

Well the EMI Next Superstar had their Finale on Friday, March 23, at the Rivoli in Toronto during Canadian Music Week. We were not selected but did go to support and meet some of the artists we were in competition with.

I would like to congratulate Kat and NIL who tied for first place. Both of these artists will have their single released by EMI Canada. That's cool. 

The second season will start soon and I think we will stay in for another go. It's a great place to meet Canadian talent and hear what the future will bring.

Great Time At The El Mo

Well we had a lot of fun at the El Mocambo for the Road To CMW. We didn't win though but it was great meeting some of the bands competing. It was also great seeing our fans amd appreciate the trip some made to come out and see us.

I'll try and get a picture up here if I can find one that's not too grainy.

We are playing at the El Mocambo on Feb 16th. Tickets are $10 advance and you can get them from the band members. Doors open at 7:00pm. We will be on early so we should be finished by 10:00PM.
